My Simple Reason why Death as an Eternal Ending is Illogical and, Therefore, False

The idea of consciousness, the soul or what is considered "being" ending forever upon our deaths is a very depressing thought.  Depression is illogical because it's an altered, abnormal human state of being.  If the universe is ordered, scientific and logical, whatever causes depression in us is illogical because it's abnormal and, thus, not universal or scientific.  If the universe makes sense and is real (which it, of course, is), whatever produces depression (the idea of a permanent end) cannot be real as it is not universal.  Therefore, consciousness or the soul or whatever we call it ending permanently upon our deaths cannot be true.  There.  I welcome any opposing views.
